GOLF TIPS FROM THE PROS
Path Problems
One of the most common shots in golf is the slice which is caused
by an outside in path . Try to visualize a target way out to the right
and hit balls in that direction. You will find that in order to start
the ball on that line it will be necessary to swing from the inside. Remember
a ball that starts left and curves right is still hit from the outside.
Try this simple drill and you will be on your way to an inside path.
Turn Your Shoulders
You have heard the term "you
are using all arms". On the take-a-way set your hands on the
grip and let your shoulders turn and take the club back just past your
foot. Note how straight your left arm is when you hinge upward.
This will set up the correct swing plane. Many twist their hands and find
themselves too far behind their body to come back to impact square.
Release Your Hands Toward the Target
Start the downswing by rotating the right hip toward the target
as the hands drop into position. Follow through extending the arms
out long forward to your target releasing the right arm over the left.
Thumbs are on the top of the handle of the club. All your weight is now
balanced on your left side. Shoulders and hips face your target.
